And formatted the entire operation to run by itself on
autopilot...so I don't have to touch it for 56 weeks..."
"So why in the Samuel T. Hill would I want yet another online ezine
on the first place", you may well ask?
Money.
Yep - Money - Honey . . . Money . . . A
slice of the long green pie...
I've built the core subscriber base of my
long-running online email newsletter/ezine through giving away free
ebooks, free ereports, free ads and my personal help in exchange for
subscribers.
Basically, by using these list building
methods, I've knowingly trained readers to think of me as their
'sugar-daddy' who isn't going after their dollars.
Nope... I don't regret it.
Despite my many mistakes, I've managed to
blunder my way into setting up different income producing methods
that have been rewarding for me both spiritually and financially.
And I don't intend pull the plug on my present ezine anytime soon.
Hell, I couldn't even if I wanted to.
I'm always getting feedback from wonderful
readers who take the time to 'thank me' for my help. And, I'm too
big a sentimental slob to give that kinda thing up!
On the same time, my present online home-based
business goal is to keep increasing my on-going residual income. Within 24 months
- my plan is to have a full-time income while only working 10 -
15 hours per week.
This may not sound like a big undertaking to
you...
but I fully expect to make a whole lot more
mistakes (lessons learned) than I will have successful marketing
campaigns.
Oh, I'll follow tested and proven business
principles. I'll test, track and adjust my efforts. I'll get the best advice
I can find, but at the end of the day, I know it'll take me a good
deal of focused work.
Then again, it's work I can handle. After all,
I grew up on the south end of a mule headed north. Now that was hard
work...
Sure, this Internet/Online home-based business
stuff is mentally draining. And it can certainly be time consuming
while you're testing, tracking and setting up workable systems.
But there comes a day when you've tested your
way into a
selling process and a marketing system that works for your business
model.
"Oh Happy Day"
you'll shout and sing.
Well, maybe you won't shout and sing. You should though. Be it
small or large, you want to get in the soul nurturing habit of celebrating your
every success!
"Excuse the interruption. Now where where
we? Oh yeah..."
When I started filling in the blanks of my
residual income marketing plans, I suspected my 'MEMO' Tip Sheet wasn't going
to be a reliable resource for me to find residual income partners.
Why? As I said earlier, I've trained readers to
behave otherwise.
To test my theory about my present ezine readers, I
spent 27 successive issues running various offers for many different
market segments and tracking the results. (Uh, you readers did notice,
didn't you? ;-)
My conclusion?
While I can make money every time I make an
offer in my ezine, it's a little like having your brother,
who just got out of jail for stealing your Mama's rent money, ask
you for a short-term loan. (I don't have any idea what that means either.
It just sounded funny to me.)
Fine. No big deal. I'd rather not beat a dead
horse when I already know how and where to get a new Pontiac to drive. In this particular case, the Pontiac would be another
online ezine.
Because I've given myself only 24 short months
to turn a full-time residual income, I didn't feel I had the luxury
of building an ezine subscriber base, or publishing my new ezine the old-fashioned way.
You know,
-
writing & submitting articles to other
ezines/web sites
-
trading ads/recommendations with other
publishers
-
submitting my ezine to ezine announcement lists
-
making testimonies to other online marketers
products/services
-
using list building co-ops
-
running contests with other ezine publishers,
etc, etc...
My dilemma?
How do I get a new ezine going where I don't
pay/bribe subscribers to become members - and not continue to ply
them with freebies - so they'll stay subscribed?
In short,
could I quickly build a decent email list,
build a trusting relationship with the list members - without being
seen as Santa, teach them to expect offers from me while providing
usable content and not distract readers from considering me as the
logical and desirable residual income business partner?
I don't like to toot my own tugboat whistle, but I may
be
one of the few people online who not only considered this a doable
project, but who has already done it.
When I started putting the project together, I
realized I'd unknowingly completed most of the steps I needed to
take. I merely needed to put them into a formal plan. Which I did. By the time I'd laid all
the steps out, I ended up with 12 steps from start to finish.
The 12 steps, were broken down into 3 different
sections:
To build the list of over 100,000 new opt-in
members, I used the 'no-cost' list-building strategies outlined
in my "Co-Reg-Secrets"
eBook.
To write my email messages, I modeled the email
strategies revealed in my "Lazy Dude eMail Tips" eBook, which I
may some day release for publication...
Third, I used portions of previously written articles,
and updated sections of past ezine issues to set up 58 issues of my new ezine
so it would operate
'hands-off' for 56 weeks without me having to do much more than test
the links.
In total, over a year's worth of
marketing without me sweating over each issue.
There you have it:
